Research and Development

Research at DAU aims to encourage faculty members and students to engage in research projects as part of their learning process. The curricula at DAU are designed using Project-based Learning (PBL) techniques, a method characterized by the use of "real world" problems, as a tool for developing critical thinking and problem-solving skills as well as research skills. We believe that there are many advantages to the idea of using PBL in linking the learning-and-teaching process to practical research:

  • Engaging students and faculty members in real-life problems
  • Equipping students with the technological skills that are vital to their future career endeavors
  • Promoting collaborative research techniques and ethics
  • Encouraging a spirit of productivity within the DAU academic community so that each individual feels responsible for the production of quality research while undertaking regular course assignments or term projects.
  • Effective utilization of PBL power so that DAU will be seen not only as a distinguished educational institute, but also as a quality-centre for research and development
